Position Description

Position Title: Client Services Consultant

Reports to: President and Senior Director, Operations and Finance

Date: June 2021


The Client Services Consultant works with Senior Consultants and other members of the CSI Consulting Team.  This role is the main Project Manager for the planning, design, project management and completion of assigned consulting projects.

The primary focus of work includes tracking, managing and integrating activities on multi-phase projects.  The CSC is the main communication and management connection between CSI and the designated client representatives.

The secondary emphasis for this position is in knowledgeable project design and implementation support for clients and participants in client projects.

The third priority for this position is professional quality preparation and communication of results from client projects.

The fourth role is representing CSI to potential clients and supporting the development of proposals and work plans for future work.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties may be assigned, with an accompanying contractor amendment.

 Client Project Management

  • Represent Concept Systems to clients and potential clients, as a member of a team.
  • Support Senior Consultant in project planning tasks.
  • Support other staff assigned to the project.
  • Manage all aspects of project management and logistics, including
    • Setting and managing project schedule, timeline and milestones.
    • Developing and implementing communication with project participants.
    • Managing all project related communications with clients and other team members.
    • Checking quality of all delivered work, including presentations and reports.
    • Adhering to timely, complete and appropriate delivery of services, results and documentation, taking into account the unique needs of the client and project.
  • Prepare and present, independently or with others, project plans, activities and results.
  • Support Senior Consultant in developing and finalizing project documents and reports.
  • Track, manage and integrate project activitiies and complete monthly project reports.
  • Provide CSI Contract Manager regular updates to ensure CSI contract adherence.

Contract Proposal Development Support

The CSC works with the CSI team to identify, qualify and research opportunities for additional contract consulting work, with existing clients or new opportunities.  The CSC will

  • Identify opportunities related to CSI work, either through research or relationships with existing clients.
  • Support the development of the proposal and its timely submission.
  • Provide documents to support the work plan.
  • Other tasks to complete the contracting process.


Qualifications: The Client Services Contractor will receive orientation and project-specific training to support successful engagement as a project team member.  CSI will provide coaching and training on tools and context of related work, including comprehensive training in Group Concept Mapping.

The successful candidate will have

  • Proven successful experience in project management in contexts appropriate to CSI’s client base
  • Understanding of contextual, cultural issues in broad-based participatory research.
  • Experience with group process facilitation; knowledge of group process methods.
  • High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office tools  and Internet.  Comfort with technology and learning new software.
  • Writing skills relevant to project work and results reporting; specific successful experience in drafting scientific and research documentation.
  • Experience in Health, Education, Planning, Justice  or other public sector context consulting is beneficial.

Education/Experience: The CSC will have a combination of relevant education and consulting or project management experience. and significant experience relevant to CSI’s work plan.
