CSI helps develop a Diversity Strategic Plan
Concept Systems, Inc. (CSI) recently completed a consulting project with a large university’s School of Nursing to create a robust, sustainable, and implementable Diversity Strategic Plan that highlights the School’s emphasis on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) as key to its success and continued growth. With CSI’s guidance, the DEI team worked through every stage of the Group Concept Mapping (GCM) process to gather, aggregate, and integrate the specific knowledge and opinions of the school’s stakeholders. These stakeholders included administrators, faculty, staff, and students from all three of the university’s campuses.
The resulting concept map, pattern matches, and go-zones provided a system view and a logical roadmap of the issues. The map made clear the steps and means through which to integrate DEI throughout the curriculum, from pre-recruitment and the application process to the student and professional experience on campus. The targeted, phased approach suggested by CSI will enable the school to register and highlight successes in tackling DEI issues, while managing the depth and breadth of issues to address. The project results highlight priorities that are critical to establishing the culture and drive to affect meaningful progress.
